Each 750mls suspension contains:
Allicin (Allium sativum extract)……………………………..7.37mg
Flavonone (Citrus limon extract)………………………….2.46mg
Papain (Carica papaya extract)…………………….……….2.46mg
Theobromine (Theobroma cacao)…………………………..5.5mg
Allicin extract in Allium sativum has the following effects:
Hypolipidaemic: lower high LDL (low density lipoprotein) cholesterol and increase HDL (high density lipoprotein), and also found to have reduce weight in rats.
Theobromine has diuretic effect, which increases urine production, and ability to dilate blood vessels, which dilate cardiac arteries, restoring musculature and elasticity of the arteries.
Flavonone (Citrus limon extract) prevents oxidation of cholesterol reducing stroke and heart attack.
Bronchodilator: maintains patent respiratory airways. Viricidal and bactericidal effects.
Ajoene in Allium sativum extract does the following:
Antioxidants: help slow ageing process, looking young and fresh.
Diuretic effect (urination) and help remove toxic chemicals from the body via the kidney
Anti-inflammatory: reduces pains and feverishness
HYPERTONE-PLUS is rapidly absorbed and extensively distributed after ingestion. Binding to plasma protein is low. Metabolism of allicin (Allium sativum) in HYPERTONE-PLUS is by hepatic enzyme (CYP2C19) and reducing sugars is by hepatic enzyme (CYPB5R2), and excreted by kidney in urine.
Controls high blood cholesterol
Management of heart problems and oedema.
Dosage and administration: Four dessertspoonfuls (40ml) three times daily before food.
Contraindications: HYPERTONE-PLUS is contraindicated in patients with clinically significant hypersensitivity to any of the components contained in the formulation.
Adverse reactions: Few reported cases of laxative (not purgative) effect in 10/10/13 since its presence in 2009. Palpitation and dizziness may occur in ulcer patients this was seen in very few women (1 in 1000). Ulcer patients who take it before food may experience gastritis or acid reflux or stomach discomfort, therefore ulcer patients should take DAPROF HYPERTONE-PLUS after meals.
Precautions: keep out of reach of children. Keep in a cool dry place. Shake well before use.
Use in pregnancy and lactation: no evidence of foetal mortality of HYPERTONE-PLUS in pregnant women. No research has been done to establish its excretion in breast milk. HYPERTONE-PLUS should be used in pregnancy and in lactating women only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Treatment of overdose: induce vomiting.
Interactions with other drugs: Fluoxetin and Fluvoxamine (antidepressants) moderately inhibit the action of cyp2c19 in the catalysis of allicin. Omeprazole 20mg daily metabolism may be reduced by allicin in people with CYP2C19*1/CYP2C191, *2 and *3. It may increase the effects of anticoagulants (example warfarin) and aspirin in the body.
Interactions with plants/foods: when in long use with Ginseng and Yohimbe extracts observe for bleeding spots. This is detected in the prothrombin/bleeding time. Allicin as an antioxidant in garlic may increase the effect of liver damage when taken with alcohol.
Warning: Don’t take alcohol when taking DAPROF HYPERTONE-PLUS.
